The Asantehene, is expected to be at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada, on June 17, 2026, to support the Black Stars during their opening Group L match against Panama at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Having recently participated in engagements in Poland, Otumfuo will travel directly to Canada, where he is expected to offer encouragement to the national team ahead of their crucial first game of the tournament. His attendance highlights the longstanding relationship between Ghana’s traditional leadership and national sports, particularly football.

The Asantehene will also serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Business Summit, an event organised by the Canada-Ghana Chamber of Commerce. The summit, scheduled to take place in Toronto from June 15 to 21, will bring together leading figures from the global business and sports communities.

Following their opening encounter with Panama in Toronto, the Black Stars will travel to Boston for their second group-stage match against England before concluding the group phase in Philadelphia against Croatia.

As part of their preparations for the tournament, Ghana recently played out a 1-1 draw with Wales and are set to face Jamaica in an international friendly on June 10.
