Six-time bestselling author, podcaster, and founder of Fit in Faith Press, Tamara Andress, has opened up about her powerful faith journey, explaining why her relationship with Jesus Christ remains the foundation of her life.
As a Christian entrepreneur and speaker, Andress says her faith has carried her through seasons of success, deep personal struggles, emotional pain, and ultimately, restoration.
She shared that her belief is rooted not only in what she has learned about God but in what she has personally experienced through moments of darkness and transformation.
“There Is Nothing More Steadfast or Eternal”
For Andress, the first reason her faith will never change is because she believes there is nothing more dependable or everlasting than a relationship with God.
She described faith as something she can hold onto and rely on regardless of circumstances.
According to her, Christianity has provided her with an anchor that remains constant through every season of life.
Finding Jesus in Her Darkest Season
Andress revealed that despite appearing to have a successful and fulfilling life from the outside, she experienced a deeply painful internal battle.
At the time, she had a loving husband, whom she affectionately calls “Gary Hot Hubby,” two young children, and two thriving business ventures. However, behind the scenes, she was struggling with depression, confusion, despair, loss of control, and suicidal thoughts.
She later discovered that unresolved sexual trauma from decades earlier had continued to affect her emotionally and spiritually.
Andress reflected on the biblical reminder that the enemy seeks to “kill, steal, and destroy,” explaining that she believes those struggles attempted to keep her trapped in shame and isolation.
A Life-Changing Encounter With Jesus
Andress said everything changed after what she described as a radical encounter with Jesus in her living room.
During one of the lowest moments of her life, she experienced what she described as an overwhelming sense of love, compassion, and acceptance.
She recalled feeling as though Jesus lifted her from a place of brokenness and reminded her of her true identity.
The message she felt was clear:
“You are seen, you are known, and I still love you.”
For Andress, those words transformed the way she viewed herself.
She said the encounter helped rewrite her identity, replacing feelings of insecurity and shame with confidence, purpose, and a deeper understanding of love.
Experiencing “Heaven on Earth”
Andress’ third reason for holding onto her faith is what she describes as experiencing heaven on earth.
She said her relationship with God has allowed her to experience a life marked by spiritual fruit, including:
- Peace
- Love
- Joy
- Kindness
- Gentleness
- Patience and perseverance
Referencing Galatians 5:22, she emphasized that these qualities represent the kind of transformation many people seek but often overlook.
She explained that God’s goodness is not only something people hope to experience in the future but something that can be encountered in everyday life.
A Message of Hope and Freedom
Andress encouraged others to seek God in the middle of their current circumstances, saying that transformation can begin immediately.
She shared that her faith journey has brought healing, freedom, and generational change, and she hopes others can experience the same breakthrough.
“I want that freedom ring for you,” she said, encouraging people to pursue healing and restoration alongside her.
She concluded by reminding others that their stories are still being written.
“God is not finished with your story,” Andress said. “I know He’s not finished with mine, but it’s already been pretty miraculous.”
