Courage Babanawo Kwabla has won the National Democratic Congress’s Deputy Youth Organizer position in the Ketu South Constituency, securing 205 votes to defeat Allah Thomas Kwame, who polled 80.
The certified results gave Kwabla approximately 72% of the 285 votes recorded for the two candidates, with his opponent receiving about 28%.
A professional nurse and grassroots activist from Wudoaba, Kwabla brings experience in student political leadership to his new role.
He served as Deputy Organizer of the Tertiary Education Institutional Network (TEIN) at the Tamale Nurses and Midwives Training College during the 2016/2017 academic year before becoming its President in 2017/2018. He is also an alumnus of the Ghana Institute of Social Democracy, the NDC’s party school.
Following his victory, Kwabla reaffirmed his commitment to mobilizing young people and strengthening their participation in the party’s activities. He described the grassroots youth membership as the “backbone and driving force of the NDC” and pledged to prioritize their empowerment.
His agenda centers on building a stronger youth base to support the party’s preparations for the 2028 general elections.
The contest formed part of the NDC’s constituency executive elections, which also saw Noah Geli elected Youth Organizer for Ketu South. Kwabla will serve alongside Geli in leading the constituency’s youth wing.
