Yetunde Barnabas Alleges Online Bullying, Vows Action Over Attacks on Her Film

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Yetunde Barnabas

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Yetunde Barnabas has spoken out against what she describes as sustained online bullying and attempts to damage her reputation following criticism of her film, Ojise.

In a social media statement shared on October 5, 2026, Barnabas declared “Enough is enough,” saying she would no longer remain silent while people allegedly undermined her career and productions.

The actress singled out an online critic using the handle @ajefunke_kofoshi, asking for the removal of a post she considered hateful. She disclosed that Ojise was produced with a ₦30 million budget and said she remained proud of the work invested in the project.

Barnabas said her career had been built through years of hard work, personal sacrifice and perseverance, adding that she intended to defend her professional reputation.

She also alleged that a group had been formed to repeatedly attack her productions and force her out of the industry. However, she acknowledged that she did not know who was behind the alleged group and was relying on information passed to her.

The filmmaker suggested that resentment over her early involvement in monetizing films on YouTube might be contributing to the hostility. That explanation remains her personal assessment.

Barnabas said she would involve the authorities to protect her name, career and work. Her statement did not identify a specific agency or confirm that a formal complaint had been filed.

The allegations of a coordinated campaign have not been independently verified.
