Ghanaian media personality Cynthia Tima Yeboah, popularly known as Tima Kumkum, has confirmed that she and her husband, Dominic Duodu, are separated and currently pursuing divorce proceedings.
Speaking on Joy Prime’s Changes, hosted by actress Nikki Samonas, Tima disclosed that the couple have lived separately since April 1, 2025.
Although they are no longer together, their marriage has not been legally dissolved because the case remains before the court. Tima consequently described her current relationship status as “partially single” until the divorce process is completed.
The media personality explained that she initially intended to keep the separation private. However, persistent public speculation and questions about the state of her marriage eventually persuaded her to address the issue.
“We don’t live together. I’m unbothered by any criticism. We need to call a spade a spade. You can’t hide it forever. When I was getting married, everyone saw it, so if it has ended, they need to know,” she said.
Tima and Dominic married on July 15, 2023, in a widely publicized ceremony attended by relatives, friends and personalities from Ghana’s media and entertainment industries.
The colourful wedding attracted significant public attention, making their relationship familiar to many of Tima’s followers. She said that level of visibility made it difficult to continue avoiding questions about their separation.
Despite confirming the breakdown of the marriage, Tima declined to disclose the specific circumstances that led to it. She indicated that she preferred to keep those details private while the legal proceedings continued.
Tima nevertheless spoke positively about Dominic’s relationship with their child. She described her estranged husband as a responsible father who continues to provide care and support despite the separation.
Her remarks suggested that although their relationship as a married couple had ended, they remained committed to fulfilling their responsibilities as parents.
Tima also acknowledged the emotional difficulties associated with the separation. She said the experience had been painful and that she was still going through a gradual healing process.
As she prepares to celebrate her 39th birthday, the broadcaster said entering another marriage is not among her immediate priorities. She is instead concentrating on her emotional well-being and personal development.
Tima added that she is allowing the future to unfold naturally rather than placing herself under pressure to begin another relationship or remarry.
Her disclosure brings clarity to months of public speculation about the couple. However, the marriage will remain legally valid until the court completes the divorce proceedings and issues a final determination.
