President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited’s 2025 audited financial statement, which reports a profit after tax of ₦7.2 trillion.

NNPC Group Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, presented the accounts at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, October 12, 2026. He was accompanied by the company’s Group Chief Finance Officer, Dapo Segun.

The results, initially released on September 29, showed a 33 per cent increase in profit from the ₦5.4 trillion recorded in 2024. Revenue, however, declined by 24 per cent to ₦34.5 trillion.

NNPC attributed the revenue reduction mainly to lower crude oil prices and reduced refined petroleum product volumes following market deregulation in 2024.

The company declared a dividend of ₦5.8 trillion, up 35 per cent. Earnings per share increased by 32 per cent to ₦35.9, while operating cash flow rose by 16 per cent to ₦12.8 trillion.

Taxes, royalties and other remittances to the government reached ₦22.3 trillion, representing a 39 per cent increase. General and administrative expenses fell from approximately ₦3.58 trillion in 2024 to ₦2.59 trillion in 2025.

On operations, NNPC reported average crude oil and condensate production of 1.77 million barrels per day, its highest level in five years. Natural gas output averaged 7.2 billion standard cubic feet per day, a three-year high.

Ojulari attributed the performance to disciplined execution and workforce capabilities, saying the company remained focused on strengthening earnings, increasing production and investing in assets.

NNPC’s stated targets include crude production of two million barrels per day by 2027 and three million barrels per day by 2030. It also aims to raise natural gas output to 12 billion standard cubic feet per day by 2030.
