
The Kadjebi District Health Directorate in the Oti Region recorded 55 cases of HIV/AIDS in 2024, comprising 41 females and 14 males.
Speaking at the 2024 Annual Performance Review Meeting in Kadjebi, Eric Nana Takyi, the District Director of Health Services, disclosed that 262 patients are currently receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART).
He urged residents to prioritize safe sexual practices, noting that women are more vulnerable to the virus than men.
On maternal healthcare, Nana Takyi highlighted that the district has recorded zero maternal deaths for three consecutive years.
He further announced that the Kadjebi District was recognized as the Best Maternal Care District and placed second in the Oti Region at the 2023 Districts Performance Review Meeting.
Additionally, 30 medical staff members were honored for their outstanding contributions to healthcare in the district.
