The Police in Suhum are currently investigating the tragic incident involving a 45-year-old driver who collided with a stationary cargo truck while driving his Sprinter bus in the community of Apeatu, situated within the Suhum Municipality along the main Accra-Kumasi Highway.
Eyewitnesses report that the deceased individual, identified as Emmanuel Debrah, was operating a Sprinter bus bearing the registration number GC 2287-15. He had loaded his vehicle with tomatoes and, for reasons yet to be determined, collided with the immobile cargo truck marked with registration number AW 4725-16. Tragically, this collision led to Emmanuel Debrah losing his life.
The exact cause of the accident remains unclear at this point, as it is uncertain whether Debrah had fallen asleep at the wheel or if his vehicle experienced a mechanical malfunction. This unfortunate incident took place during the morning hours of Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Additionally, another individual sustained injuries as a result of the accident.
Promptly responding to the scene, the Suhum Municipal Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) Accident Prevention Squad (APS) initiated rescue operations to provide assistance.
