The Africa Prosperity Network (APN) is set to publicly announce the details of the second edition of the annual Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) on Sunday, June 18, 2023. This significant announcement will occur as a critical side event during the 30th Afreximbank Annual Meetings in Accra from June 18 to 21, 2023. The overarching theme of the meetings is “Delivering The Vision, Building Prosperity For Africans.”

Organized by the APN in collaboration with the Africa Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat and the Government of the Republic of Ghana, among other partners, the Africa Prosperity Dialogues is an exclusive annual platform. It convenes Africa and Global Africa’s business executives, organizations, thought leaders, and political figures, fostering collective thinking, planning, and collaboration with a sense of urgency. The ultimate objective is to drive the establishment of the world’s largest single market in Africa.

The African Union officially adopted the Africa Prosperity Dialogues on February 19, 2023, during the 36th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government. This pivotal decision recognized the Dialogues as vital for mobilizing private sector engagement and commitment to the continent’s crucial AfCFTA project.

The inaugural edition of the Africa Prosperity Dialogues brought together prominent figures from the continent’s industries and was a resounding success. Held at the Safari Valley Resort in Adukrom, Eastern Region of Ghana, from January 26 to 27, 2023, and at the Peduase Presidential Lodge on January 28, 2023, this highly attended three-day retreat facilitated collaboration among participating African states and businesses. The focus was on achieving shared ownership and responsibility in promoting free trade and investment among the 54 states of AfCFTA.

The launch of the second edition of the Africa Prosperity Dialogues will take place on Sunday at the Africa Trade House, Accra, the headquarters of AfCFTA. This breakfast meeting, attended by esteemed dignitaries in the 30th Annual Meeting of Afreximbank, will feature Her Excellency Samira Bawumia, the 2nd Lady of the Republic of Ghana, as the special guest of honour. Notable speakers include H.E. Wamkele Mene, the Secretary General of AfCFTA, Dr. George Agyekum Donkor, the President of Ecowas Bank for Investment and Development, and Hon. Kobina Tahir Hammond, Ghana’s Trade & Industry Minister. The program is scheduled to commence at 7:30 am.
