Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama has participated in the 30th Ordinary Assembly of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) on the margins of the 39th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa.
The high-level meeting, held under the theme “Building Resilience,” brought together African First Ladies and their advisers to discuss strategies to strengthen communities across the continent in the face of social and economic challenges.
The two-day assembly provided a platform for discussions on key development priorities, including women’s empowerment, child welfare, health advocacy, and sustainable community initiatives. After the opening session, members held a closed-door meeting to review ongoing programmes and outline how they will work together to advance development goals in their countries.
Mrs. Mahama later joined other First Ladies at the official opening of the AU Summit alongside Heads of State and Government.
Her participation underscores Ghana’s continued engagement in continental development initiatives and highlights the role of First Ladies in championing social causes that complement the broader objectives of the African Union.
The OAFLAD meeting forms part of activities held alongside the AU Summit, offering a unified platform for advocacy and collective action among African First Ladies.
