Afua Asantewaa, the Ghanaian media personality and entrepreneur who undertook the challenge of breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual, has expressed her appreciation to her fans and supporters following the official verdict from the record-keeping organization.

After singing continuously for 105 hours in December 2023, Asantewaa received the outcome of her Sing-a-thon attempt just minutes before hosting a gala dinner and the launch of the Lebanese Scholarship Alumni Network. The event was attended by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Although she did not disclose the verdict, Asantewaa urged her fans to remain calm and assured them that she would announce her next course of action in the coming days.

She took a moment to express her gratitude to all her fans for their unwavering love and support throughout her Sing-a-thon journey.

However, Guinness World Records, in a tweet on Friday, February 23rd, rejected Afua Asantewaa’s claim for the longest singing marathon by an individual, citing non-compliance with the established rules and guidelines.

Undeterred, Asantewaa shared a message on her Facebook page, stating: “When life hands you lemons, turn them into lemonade. Success is sweetest when snatched out of the jaws of defeat.”
