The independent presidential candidate Alan Kyerematen says, If elected president in the upcoming December 7 general elections, he will appoint half of his ministers from members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament.
He explained that the 1992 Constitution mandates him to select half of his ministers from Parliament. As a president for all, his ministerial appointments will include members from the NDC, NPP, and any other party or individual who makes it to Parliament.
Mr. Kyerematen was speaking on Citi FM, that his selections will be based on individual merit rather than political affiliation.
“I hear people asking how I am going to select my ministers, but that is very simple. I will pick ministers from the two parties represented in Parliament, and if other parties make it to Parliament, I also have the flexibility to choose independent candidates.”
