The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has urged newly appointed officials under President John Dramani Mahama to uphold integrity, remain committed to national ideals, and place the welfare of Ghanaians at the center of their service.
During a courtesy visit to the Jubilee House, Otumfuo emphasized that Ghana’s advancement hinges on the collective responsibility and dedication of its leaders.
“Be truthful, be loyal, and above all, serve the nation with integrity,” he told the appointees. “You have a responsibility to put Ghana first in all your decisions and actions.”
He warned against complacency, stressing the importance of tangible results that contribute to national development.
The visit comes at a pivotal moment as President Mahama, now serving a non-consecutive second term after his re-election in 2024, begins implementing a new governance agenda. His administration is focused on economic recovery, infrastructure development, and public sector reform.
President Mahama has also committed to reducing the size of government and boosting efficiency. Early initiatives under his leadership are already targeting improvements in service delivery and economic performance.
The engagement between Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and President Mahama reflects a continued partnership aimed at fostering development and improving socio-economic conditions, particularly in the Ashanti Region.
