Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has voiced his discontent with the treatment he received from some of his colleagues during his campaign for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer position.

In the NPP presidential primary, Vice-President Bawumia secured victory with 118,210 votes, representing 61.47%, surpassing Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, who garnered 71,996 votes, making up 37.41%.

In an interview yet to be aired on Pan Africa Television, the Assin Central MP expressed his bitterness, clarifying that it is not about losing to Bawumia but rather the negative comments made by those he considered friends and had assisted in reaching Parliament.

“I am not angry at every MP who didn’t vote for me; everyone has a choice. But the very people who were my friends that I have helped to come to Parliament… It’s not the betrayal but the bad things they said about me, that is where I have the problem. So who says I’m not bitter? I am bitter not because the vice-president won; I am bitter because the people that I have helped… the insults,” Agyapong conveyed.
