Nottingham Forest, an English Premiership side, released Black Stars captain Andre Ayew and five other senior players during the summer transfer window. Ayew, 33 years old, joined the club from Qatari side Al Sadd last February. However, his time at Nottingham Forest was limited to only 12 appearances, with most coming off the bench as a substitute.
Despite Everton and other clubs showing interest in signing Ayew when he left Qatar, he joined Nottingham Forest. The other players on the release list include former Manchester United players Jesse Lingard, Cafu, Jack Colback, Jordan Smith, and Lyle Taylor.
