The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana has reaffirmed the church’s commitment to financial transparency, stating that all tithes and offerings collected across its congregations are properly accounted for and managed with strict oversight.
Addressing congregants and the media during a recent engagement, the church leader emphasized that the Methodist Church operates a structured financial system designed to ensure accountability at every level—from local societies to the national administration. He noted that internal controls, audits, and reporting mechanisms are in place to track the use of funds entrusted to the church.
“We take stewardship seriously,” the Presiding Bishop stated. “Every tithe and offering given by our members is recorded and used in line with the mission of the church.”
According to him, funds received are channeled into key areas such as ministry work, education, healthcare services, and community development initiatives. The church, which has a long-standing presence in Ghana, is known for running schools, hospitals, and social intervention programs that benefit both members and the wider public.
The Bishop further explained that periodic audits are conducted to maintain financial discipline and ensure compliance with established procedures. He encouraged members to remain confident in the church’s systems and to continue supporting its work through faithful giving.
His remarks come at a time when questions around financial transparency in religious institutions have gained increased public attention. Observers say such assurances are important in building trust and reinforcing accountability within faith-based organizations.
The Methodist Church Ghana continues to play a significant role in Ghana’s spiritual and social landscape, with leadership reiterating its commitment to integrity, stewardship, and responsible management of resources.
As discussions around governance and accountability continue, the church’s leadership has signaled its readiness to uphold best practices and maintain the confidence of its members and the broader community.
