The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has expressed its strong support for the ORAL, highlighting the urgent need to recover looted state assets, including lands, factories, and institutions.
Osei Kofi Acquah, National Communications Director of the CPP, stated that “No one can claim that the ORAL initiative is flawed unless they are unpatriotic or have been involved in looting state assets themselves.”
He voiced concern over the persistent issue of state employees and politicians selling state-owned properties to themselves and their associates, calling for an end to such practices.
Osei Kofi Acquah emphasized that the recovery efforts should trace back to 1966, following the coup that led to the unlawful allocation of state properties to military and government officials.
He also questioned the ethical implications of allowing government ministers, with insider knowledge, to acquire state properties at undervalued prices.
The CPP is advocating for ORAL to expand its operations beyond Accra to ensure that all state properties currently held by individuals or groups are reclaimed without exception.
He reiterated, “As Nkrumaists, our goal is to recover looted state assets dating back to 1966. The CPP fully supports the recovery of every asset misappropriated by those entrusted with their protection.”
