The Electoral Commission (EC) will start transporting ballots today, Thursday, November 14, for the upcoming general elections on December 7.
EC Deputy Chairman for Operations, Samuel Tettey, informed the General Secretaries of all political parties that final preparations are underway, with ballot papers being dispatched to each region under strict security.
“We bring you warm greetings from the Electoral Commission. we inform you that the transportation of ballot papers to the various regions will start tomorrow,” Mr. Tettey wrote in a letter dated November 13.
This phase follows a month of EC preparations, including finalizing voter registration, designating polling stations, and training election officials.
To ensure transparency and fairness, the letter states that ballots will be securely stored at police facilities in each region until election day, when they will be handed over to officials in the presence of party representatives.
The EC has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the electoral process, stressing that robust security measures are in place to prevent tampering and unauthorized access to the ballots.
