The Ekumfi Traditional Council has expressed its disappointment with President Akufo Addo for remarks suggesting that the people of Ekumfi have been denied development due to their voting against the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary candidate, Kingsley Ato Cudjoe, in the 2020 elections.

The Council is also concerned about the media controversy surrounding the autopsy report of the late President Mills. They refute claims of sending a delegation to the President to demand the report, dismissing it as malicious.

The Traditional Authorities are now requesting scientific data from the President to showcase the developmental efforts of the former MP in the Ekumfi area before his electoral defeat. They argue that accurate data is essential to substantiate the President’s assertions.

Speaking to the media in Ekumfi, the Omanhene of Ekumfi Traditional Area, Odeefour Akyin VIII, characterized the President’s comments as unfortunate. He emphasized that the people of Ekumfi merely exercised their democratic right and should not be subjected to punishment based on their political choices.

Regarding the controversy surrounding late President Mills’ death and autopsy report, the Traditional Authority denies having sent a delegation to the Presidency to request the report. Odeefour Akyin VIII expressed dismay at the ongoing media disputes within the late President’s family, urging them to resolve the matter amicably to avoid projecting disunity.
