Elections postponed: Kojo Bonsu supports Duffuor’s call

Kojo Bonsu, an aspiring flag bearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed his concerns about certain irregularities he believes exist in the party’s voter register. He fears these alleged infractions could impact the primaries scheduled for Saturday, May 13, 2023. Bonsu’s worries stem from a recent lawsuit filed by Dr. Kwabena Duffuor at the Accra High Court, claiming the party failed to provide the required photo album register five weeks before the elections, as stipulated in the party’s rules.

According to Bonsu, a partial photo album register was only provided to Duffour’s team on May 4, just a few days before the elections, despite their initial request made in March. The former Finance Minister has urged the party to postpone the upcoming presidential and parliamentary primaries for rectifying the issues with the electoral roll.

Echoing Duffour’s concerns, Bonsu stated in an interview with Kumasi-based OTEC FM that failure to address this matter and proceed with the May 13 poll could expose the party to further legal actions. He emphasized the need for the party to postpone the election date and resolve the alleged anomalies in the voter register.
