Akosua Serwaa arrived at Kotoka International Airport on March 24 to a warm from family members and fans, as preparations gather momentum for the second “Celebration of Life” events in honor of the late highlife icon Daddy Lumba. The commemorative events are scheduled to take place on March 28 and 29 in Accra.
She was received by key members of Lumba’s family and close associates, including his sister, Ernestina Fosu, as well as Papa Shee, Mama China, and a group of Lumba’s legal wives.
Her arrival follows earlier burial rites held in Kumasi in December 2025. The upcoming events are intended to celebrate the musician’s enduring legacy, even as family disagreements continue to unfold.
Speaking during the reception, Ernestina Fosu expressed heartfelt appreciation to Ghanaians for their support throughout a period marked by grief and legal challenges. She acknowledged the encouragement and solidarity shown by the public during this difficult time.
Meanwhile, the visit comes amid ongoing legal disputes among family members concerning the management of the estate and the organisation of the commemorative events. Both Akosua Serwaa and Ernestina Fosu are expected to appear before an Accra High Court on March 25, where a ruling will be delivered on a possible injunction seeking to halt the planned celebrations.
The court recently granted Kofi Owusu permission to file the injunction application.
Despite the legal uncertainties, anticipation continues to build in Accra, as fans and music enthusiasts prepare to honour the life and legacy of one of Ghana’s most influential highlife figures.
