
Heritage Promotions has announced the nominees for the 15th Central Music Awards, with 261 nominations across 36 categories celebrating musical talent from Ghana’s Central Region.
The shortlist was drawn from 381 applications received from the region’s 22 districts. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, November 28, 2026, at the Centre for National Culture in Cape Coast.
Six musicians will contest the Artiste of the Year award: Kwesi Taadi, Kojo Vypa, Yhaw Fargo, Skyty Nero, Koffii Tome and Okintoe. As part of the anniversary celebrations, the New Artiste of the Year winner will receive GH¢5,000, sponsored by the scheme’s founder, Candyman Lucas Mensah.
The Female Vocalist of the Year category features Akasii with “Ahomaso,” Mena Srekubea with “Obeye,” Rev Sarah Bordoh with “Yesu Beyi Wo,” and Empress Christy with “Asesa.”
Male Vocalist nominees include Qweku Skonzy, Brother Ishmael, Idi Kawawa, Mr B Fly, Kwobi Founda, Kwesi Blak, Kwaku Cenima, Khofy Guyson, Kwame Emma and KDF.
Among those competing for Best Rapper are Amankrado GH, Kojo Vypa, Idi Kawawa, Kwaku Tugabwoy, Don Proph, Joe Mayar, Skyty Nero and Koffii Tome.
The Best Collaboration category includes Kwesi Taadi’s “Migraines” featuring Kelvyn Boy, Kojo Vypa’s “Imposter Remix” featuring Shaker, and No Nation Gang’s “Never Fail” featuring Kwesi Taadi.
For Ghana Popular Song of the Year, the nominees are Okintoe’s “Abaa Abaa,” Kofi Kinaata’s “Black Stars,” KiDi’s “Signature” featuring Lasmid, and Okese 1’s “Don’t Come Too Close II,” featuring Darkovibes, Sista Afia and Joey B.
Activities preceding the ceremony will include a hip-hop cypher featuring rap nominees and the third CMA Campus Tour, which will visit a selected senior high school in the Central Region.
