Jesus Christ and the events leading to the crucifixion “The Chosen Series”

Fans of the hit series The Chosen are getting early glimpses of what to expect in Season 6, even though an official trailer has not yet been released. Creator Dallas Jenkins has been sharing sneak-peek scenes and rough cuts during livestreams and fan gatherings, including the recent ChosenCon 2026.

Several of the previewed scenes highlight the emotional intensity surrounding the trial of Jesus Christ and the events leading to the crucifixion. One scene shows John the Apostle confronting Judas Iscariot behind bars. In the exchange, John criticizes Judas for his lack of faith, while Judas defends his betrayal by claiming he is forcing Jesus to finally reveal his divine power.

Another emotional moment teased by the creators involves a conversation between Mary and Mary Magdalene. In the scene, Mary expresses fear and anguish over witnessing her son’s suffering during his final hours, eventually resolving that she must see him despite the pain.

Footage has also been previewed showing Jesus standing silently before Pontius Pilate during his trial, as well as scenes in which he is mocked by Herod Antipas. Jenkins has also revealed that Season 6 will include a long-anticipated flashback depicting the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist, which will serve as a narrative bookend to the final phase of his earthly ministry.

Season 6 of The Chosen is expected to be larger in scale than previous seasons, with more complex visual effects and deeper storytelling. Episodes 1 through 6 are scheduled to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in Fall 2026.

The season finale, which will portray the crucifixion, is planned as a special global theatrical release sometime between March and May 2027. Looking further ahead, Season 7—expected to focus on the resurrection—is tentatively planned for release in 2028. Fans can follow updates and new clips through the official YouTube channel and “The Chosen App”. This series about Jesus Christ and his disciples is free on The Chosen App or Angel Studios App.
