A devastating fire has engulfed a cluster of electrical shops at Adum, a bustling commercial hub in Kumasi, Ghana, leaving widespread destruction in its wake.
The fire, which broke out early Friday morning, reduced multiple shops and stalls to ashes as it spread rapidly through the area. The cause of the blaze is yet to be confirmed, though initial reports suggest a possible electrical fault as the trigger.
According to eyewitnesses, the flames erupted in the early hours of the morning and quickly spread from one shop to another, fueled by the presence of electrical appliances and other flammable materials.
In response, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) dispatched four fire tenders to the scene. Firefighters have been working relentlessly to contain the inferno, but the blaze has been difficult to extinguish due to intermittent bursts of flames and thick plumes of smoke that continue to rise from the wreckage.
