The Ghana Police Service has promoted four officers from the Western Central Regional Police Command in recognition of their diligence, professionalism, and commitment to duty.

The officers—No. 47459 G/Sgt. Fetus Gameli Kukuia, No. 52192 G/Cpl. Christian Asare, No. 52441 G/Cpl. Nicholas Kingsley Amoah, and No. 59947 G/Const. Adam Yakubu—have been elevated to the ranks of Inspector, Sergeant, and Lance Corporal, respectively.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), commended the officers for their exemplary service. The IGP emphasized that dedication and exceptional performance will continue to be acknowledged and rewarded across the Service.

The promotions follow a significant operation on April 30, 2025—just a day after the murder of five individuals at Asiyaw near Nsawam. Acting swiftly, officers from the Western Central Regional Command arrested three suspects—Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab—for unlawful possession of arms and ammunition at Bawdie Barrier near Wassa Akropong.

The suspects, traveling aboard a Grand Bird Bus (registration number AS 4431-22) en route to Wassa Akropong, were intercepted and searched by the officers. During the search, a submachine gun (SMG) and 21 rounds of ammunition were recovered from Hakeem Imoro.

Subsequent interrogation revealed that the weapon had been supplied by his employer, Samuel Atsu Forson, alias Alanyo, who was already in custody in connection with the Asiyaw murders.

Further investigation confirmed that the suspects arrested at Bawdie Barrier were directly linked to the Asiyaw killings and were attempting to escape the jurisdiction at the time of their arrest.

The Ghana Police Service has lauded the officers’ vigilance and outstanding performance, reaffirming its commitment to recognizing excellence and strengthening efforts in the fight against crime.
