GURU back in the SRC presidential race

The Appeals Board has unanimously overturned the disqualification of two SRC presidential aspirants, Mr. Maradona Adjei Yeboah, also known as Guru, and Mr. Emmanuel Owusu Amponsah, clearing the way for their participation in the upcoming elections.

 

In a statement signed by the Vice Dean, the Appeals Board instructed that the names of the two aspirants and their running mates be added to the official list of presidential candidates.

“The Appeals Board, by a unanimous vote of 7-0, has set aside the disqualification of Mr. Emmanuel Owusu Amponsah and Mr. Maradona Adjei Yeboah,” the statement read.

 

The Vice Dean also ordered that a balloting session be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon at the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs (ODSA) to determine the positions of all SRC candidates vetted by the committee.

 

The statement added, “All candidates should be promptly informed to gather at the ODSA for the balloting.”

Furthermore, the Vice Dean emphasized that after the balloting, the list of candidates and their positions should be submitted to the UGCS to facilitate preparations for the election on a date mutually agreed upon with the candidates.

The statement concluded, “This matter is URGENT, and all parties should act accordingly.”
