GWCL has announced it is embarking on an exercise to recoup GH¢800 million in arrears owed by various institutions and individuals.

According to a statement released by GWCL, the company has been facing severe financial challenges, with the high levels of debt owed by its customers. The arrears have accumulated over the years and have reached a critical level, making it difficult for the company to provide the services to its customers.

Therefore, the GWCL has taken a tough stance on debt recovery and has put measures in place to recover outstanding debts. The company has warned it will not hesitate to take legal action against defaulting customers, including government institutions.

The exercise to recoup the arrears will involve the deployment of debt collectors to recover outstanding payments from customers. The company has also urged its customers to settle their debts to avoid inconvenience promptly.

The GWCL is the leading provider of water and sewerage services in Ghana and supplies clean water to over 4 million people nationwide. The company has been facing financial challenges in recent years because of the high levels of debt owed by its customers, which has affected its ability to provide the necessary services to its customers.

The exercise to recoup the GH¢800 million arrears is expected to help the company improve its financial position and continue providing the necessary services to its customers.
