Former President and Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has declared his government’s intent to reopen investigations into alleged acts of corruption and graft involving former Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Dapaah.

This statement comes in response to revelations from the office of the Attorney General, indicating that the docket presented to the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) lacked findings of corruption against Cecilia Dapaah.

While acknowledging the absence of such findings, Mahama emphasized his government’s commitment to pursuing justice in the Cecilia Dapaah case. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, May 2, 2024, he stated, “My government will reopen investigations into alleged acts of corruption and graft in the Cecilia Dapaah case.”

This announcement underscores Mahama’s dedication to combatting corruption and ensuring accountability, a cornerstone of the NDC’s campaign platform. The Cecilia Dapaah case has elicited public outrage and demands for a thorough investigation due to allegations of corruption and money laundering.

With Mahama’s pledge, his government aims to revisit the case, demonstrating its determination to hold individuals accountable for any wrongdoing.
