John Setor Dumelo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has issued an apology and retraction for his previous comments regarding the death of Lydia Alhassan’s husband.

In a Facebook post, Dumelo expressed his regret, stating, “I apologize and unreservedly retract my previous comments.” He explained that his remarks were made in response to personal attacks by supporters of the honorable minister, which included false allegations about his mother’s death. However, he acknowledged that his reaction was inappropriate.

Dumelo extended his “sincere and unconditional apologies” to Lydia Alhassan, noting that his statements did not align with his values. He also reaffirmed his dedication to the development and progress of the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, saying, “I want to assure the people of AWW of my full commitment to the development and progress of our constituency.”

He concluded his message with a final apology, stating, “I sincerely apologize and retract my statements.”
