John Dramani Mahama has announced his intention to run for president in 2024. Former President Mahama revealed this to the Minority Caucus in Parliament when they visited him on Tuesday. A group of members who were at President Mahama’s office informed him of their decision to endorse his flagbearership candidacy if he announced it.

According to them, he has a high chance of winning based on his multiple recommendations to the government regarding economic improvement.

According to the former president, he would announce his candidacy soon.

The party of the former President believed it was critical that President Mahama run for reelection. The current government has been criticized for mismanaging Ghana’s economy, which has led to many people expressing disappointment.

When Atta Mills died, Mahama served as President for the remainder of his predecessor’s term prior to contesting and winning the 2012 election. In 2016, he ran for re-election but lost to President Akufo-Addo.

There is a strong belief among his supporters that he will win the 2024 election.
