President John Dramani Mahama has directed all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to declare their assets by July 15, 2025, as mandated by the 1992 Constitution.

Addressing an orientation and training programme for MMDCEs in Accra, President Mahama emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in public service.

He noted that asset declaration is crucial in fighting corruption and building confidence in public officials.

President Mahama reminded the MMDCEs that they are among the public office holders required to declare their assets before and after holding office, as stipulated in Article 286 of the Constitution.

He warned that defaulters will face sanctions, citing instances where some appointees have already been sanctioned for non-compliance.
