A former Tiger Eye PI employee, Daniel Owusu Koranteng, also known as Akwasi Amakye, has been arrested in connection with the 2019 murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

Koranteng is alleged to have leaked photographs of the deceased to a prominent Ghanaian politician before the journalist’s assassination. Reports indicate that he was a close associate of Hussein-Suale and frequently visited his Madina residence.

Following the launch of police investigations, he allegedly relocated to the UK but recently returned to Ghana in secret, leading to his arrest at Amasaman-Adease.

His arrest comes after key evidence was extracted by the FBI in the USA, including phone records of conversations between the suspect and Hussein-Suale in the days leading up to the journalist’s murder.

Ahmed Hussein-Suale was fatally shot near his family home in Madina on January 16, 2019, after working with the BBC on an investigative exposé that uncovered corruption in African football.
