Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has announced plans to return an $800 cash gift she received from the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, following mounting public criticism and calls for his suspension.

The controversy erupted after a video surfaced on social media showing Gyamfi handing over U.S. dollar bills to Agradaa, prompting widespread backlash. Members of the Minority in Parliament were particularly vocal, describing the gesture as inappropriate and demanding Gyamfi’s immediate dismissal from office.

In a live broadcast on Instagram on Monday, Nana Agradaa addressed the growing concerns, declaring her intent to return the money and even offer double the amount to protect Gyamfi’s reputation.

I will return the $800 and even double it. I’ll locate his office and personally deliver the money with my camera so Ghanaians can see that I’ve returned it,” she said.

Agradaa, a former fetish priestess who now identifies as a Christian evangelist, emphasized that she did not want to be the cause of any damage to Gyamfi’s career.

This is my mantle, my Bible, and my anointing oil. As a great woman of God, I say this — if I am the reason Sammy will lose his job, I will set my church on fire,” she stated passionately.

Meanwhile, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister in charge of Government Communications, has weighed in on the controversy, accusing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of exploiting the incident for political gain. He claimed the opposition is using the situation to demand Gyamfi’s suspension in a bid to score political points.

The incident continues to spark debate over the propriety of public officials’ conduct and their interactions with controversial figures.
