A 36-year-old man has lost his life following a violent altercation believed to be connected to a relationship dispute at Offinso Agyimpra in the Ashanti Region.
According to police reports, the deceased, identified as Kwabena Anokye, was involved in a confrontation with another man, Akwasi Anyom, over a woman known as Adwubi. It is understood that Anokye previously had a child with Adwubi, but their relationship ended after she began a new one with Anyom, leading to ongoing tension between the two men.
In the early hours of Friday, May 1, 2026, Anokye reportedly went to Anyom’s residence and allegedly gained entry through a window. He is said to have confronted Anyom, insisting that Adwubi return to him. The situation quickly escalated into a physical struggle, during which Adwubi reportedly fled for safety.
During the confrontation, Anokye was stabbed and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Anyom also suffered machete wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged and is currently assisting police with investigations.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at a morgue, while authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
