
The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, was involved in a road accident in the early hours of Wednesday, February 18, 2026, authorities have confirmed. The revered traditional ruler is reported to be in stable condition and did not sustain any injuries.
The incident occurred at about 2:00 a.m. at Pai-Katanga in the Oti Region, contrary to initial speculation that it took place within Accra. At the time of the accident, the King was traveling back to Accra after a private visit to Tamale, which he undertook at the invitation of the Yaa Naa.
Although the Ga Mantse emerged from the incident unharmed, his vehicle sustained significant damage, underscoring the severity of the crash. Details regarding the cause of the accident are yet to be officially disclosed.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service arrived promptly at the scene to provide assistance and ensure safety. Investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
