Mer Group has signed a new €32 million homeland security and defense agreement with a government in West Africa, expanding the Israeli firm’s growing footprint across the region’s security and intelligence sector.
The contract, announced on May 10, 2026, covers the supply of advanced homeland security systems, intelligence solutions, cyber defense technologies, and aerial operational capabilities. The identity of the West African country involved has not been officially disclosed, although recent reports indicate that the company has developed a significant presence in Togo, where it reportedly serves as a regular supplier to the country’s National Intelligence Agency.
According to the company, the agreement also includes long-term professional services such as operational guidance, technical support, and specialized training programs for local intelligence officers and security personnel. The implementation phase is expected to run over the next 24 months.
The latest contract forms part of a broader surge in defense-related deals secured by Mer Group since the start of 2026. The company says it has signed approximately NIS 275 million worth of new military and homeland security agreements during the year as demand for advanced surveillance and security systems continues to rise globally.
Chief Executive Officer Avi Shechter described the agreement as “tangible evidence of the strong demand” for sophisticated military technologies and homeland security solutions in emerging markets, particularly across Africa.
Mer Group is known for providing intelligence, surveillance, cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure protection systems to governments and security agencies worldwide. Reports indicate that the company’s workforce includes several former operatives from Israel’s intelligence services, including Mossad and Shin Bet.
