Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has officially unveiled a 35-member campaign team to support his bid to become the next National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.
The team brings together party executives, former government officials, communicators and grassroots organisers who will lead his campaign ahead of the party’s upcoming national executive elections.
Former Sunyani East MP, Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, has been appointed Campaign Chairman, while former New Edubiase MP, George Oduro, will serve as Campaign Manager.
Former Deputy National Youth Organiser, Archibald Cobbina, has been tasked with overseeing field operations and delegates mobilisation. Andy Owusu will head campaign operations, including finance, logistics and programme coordination.
The campaign’s political affairs team includes Sarah Adwoa Safo, Moses Anim and Stephen Amoah, popularly known as Sticka.
Media and communications will be led by Ewuradjoa Coleman, while the spokespersons team includes David Boakye, Akua Afriyie, Pope Yao Yevoo and Dr Palgrave Boakye-Danquah.
Other members of the campaign team have been assigned responsibilities in areas such as welfare, electoral affairs, women mobilisation, special operations and external relations.
Chairman Wontumi recently confirmed his intention to contest for the NPP National Chairman position, saying the party needs leadership that is stable, principled and capable of bringing members together.
In a statement released earlier this week, he said the NPP was at a crucial stage following recent political setbacks and needed a leader who understands the grassroots and values every member of the party.
“Our party has faced challenges and learned hard lessons along the way. At this critical moment, the NPP demands leadership that is steady, principled and committed to unity,” he stated.
According to him, his decision to run followed consultations with senior figures within the party as well as what he described as prayerful reflection.
Chairman Wontumi said his goal is to restore confidence in the party, strengthen its grassroots structures and position the NPP strongly ahead of the 2028 general elections.
