Hassan Ayariga, the Founder and Leader of the All People’s Congress (APC), has criticized both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for neglecting the developmental needs of the people, especially the underprivileged.

in an  interview with  on Original FM 91.9 in Accra, Ayariga observed that despite the proliferation of political parties in Ghana since 1992, only two, the NDC and NPP, have held political power. He lamented that the perceived corruption associated with both parties has eroded the confidence of many Ghanaians in the prospect of a better future.

Ayariga expressed concern about the confrontational stance of both the NDC and NPP in the electoral process, along with threats of political vendetta, stating that this jeopardizes the peace and stability of the country. He emphasized that what most Ghanaians, especially the youth, seek is a credible alternative to the dominant political players.

The APC leader asserted that his party offers a platform for like-minded individuals to positively influence the political landscape by bringing a fresh perspective to Ghana’s political life. He highlighted the APC’s commitment to democratic ideals such as freedom, social justice, transparency, and accountability in governance.

Ayariga advocated for constructive opposition during periods when the APC is not in government, emphasizing the importance of focusing on issues, principles, and policies while avoiding insults, abuses, pettiness, violence, threats, and political vendettas to propel the country forward.

He urged Ghanaians to view themselves as one people with a common destiny, discouraging division along political lines. Ayariga disclosed the provision of a platform for Ghanaians, particularly the youth, to participate in bringing about a paradigm shift in the country’s political and economic development agenda.

Highlighting the need for unity and faster progress, Ayariga called on all citizens to collaborate in achieving the common goal of development in Ghana.
