A multitude of demonstrators has assembled at Obra Spot in Accra to participate in the #OccupyBoG protest, jointly organized by the NDC minority group in Parliament, the pressure group Arise Ghana, and other affiliated organizations. The protesters are vocally demanding the resignation of Dr. Ernest Addison, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, along with his deputies.

The demonstrators are leveling accusations against Dr. Ernest Addison, asserting that he has mismanaged the central bank, pushing it toward financial insolvency. They also allege that he has overseen extravagant spending, exemplified by the construction of the new Bank of Ghana headquarters, which carries a price tag of $250 million.

The planned route for the protest involves marching from Obra Spot through various locations, including Adabraka, Ridge roundabout, the National Theatre traffic light, the High Court complex traffic light, and the Atta Mills High Street. The demonstration will then take a U-turn at the National Lottery traffic light before concluding at Independence Square.

Several Members of Parliament have already arrived at the protest, including Francis Xavier Sosu, the MP for Madina; Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, representing North Tongu; and others.
