President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Mr. Kwasi Agyei, the Deputy Controller and Accountant General (CAG), to serve as the acting Controller and Accountant General for the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) following the resignation of Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem.
Mr. Kwasi Agyei assumed office on Monday, April 15, 2024.
During a brief handover ceremony at the Treasury Head Office, Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem, the former Controller and Accountant-General, expressed his satisfaction with the appointment of an acting CAG from within the department. He remarked that this appointment would inspire the department’s staff, demonstrating that hard work, dedication, and integrity lead to advancement.
Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem extended his appreciation to all personnel of the department, urging them to extend the same level of support to Mr. Agyei in his new role. He expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo, the Chairman of the Public Service Commission, the Head of Service, and every department employee for their support and the opportunity to serve the nation through the CAGD.
In response, Mr. Kwasi Agyei, the newly appointed interim CAG, thanked Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem for his outstanding leadership, acknowledging the valuable lessons he had learned under his guidance.
