Professor Gyampo on NPP has fulfilled over 80% of its promises

Professor Ransford Gyampo has sharply criticized Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s claim that the NPP has fulfilled over 80% of its promises, labeling it as “disingenuous” and “an unnecessary insult” to Ghanaians.

Prof. Gyampo argued that such a high self-assessment is untenable given the country’s deteriorating economic and statistical indicators.

“No one can justify such a high score amidst failing economic indices, rising corruption perceptions, declining press freedom, and a worsening standard of living,” he stated.

He questioned the government’s self-evaluation by highlighting the troubling state of key economic measures and the critical assessments by rating agencies.

“What are the economic indicators saying? What are the rating agencies telling us? These are the issues that truly matter,” Prof. Gyampo emphasized.

He compared the government’s claim to “academic madness,” insisting that it is the people of Ghana, not the government, who will ultimately judge its performance.

“We will always prioritize Ghana over any political party or regime,” Prof. Gyampo declared, adding that a detailed fact-checking and analysis of the Vice President’s statements is forthcoming.
