Celebrated Ghanaian Reggae musician, Rocky Dawuni, has earned a nomination in the 64th Grammy Awards.

Rocky secured a prestigious nomination in the Best Global Music Performance category at this year’s awards.

Rocky earned the nomination with his uplifting song “Rise”.
The competition is fierce, as Rocky will be going head-to-head with renowned artists, including: Angélique Kidjo & Soweto Gospel Choir (“Sunlight to My Soul”), Arooj Aftab (“Raat Ki Rani”), Jacob Collier featuring Anoushka Shankar & Varijashree Venugopal (“A Rock Somewhere”), Masa Takumi featuring Ron Korb, Noshir Mody & Dale Edward Chung (“Kashira”) and Sheila E. featuring Gloria Estefan & Mimy Succar (“Bemba Colorá”)

This is the fourth time Rocky has been nominated in the prestigious award scheme.

The album “Voice of Bunbon Vol. 1” was nominated for Best Global Music Album in 2022.

It follows the December 2015 Grammy Award nomination for Best Reggae Album for his sixth studio album, “Branches of the Same Tree.”

The 2025 Grammy Awards will be held on February 2, 2025 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaian music lovers have taken to social media to pour out their frustration over the academy consistently snubbing Stonebwoy in the awards scheme.
