The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has officially opened media accreditation for an upcoming international friendly between Wales national football team and Ghana national football team, scheduled for June 2, 2026.
Media professionals interested in covering the match are required to submit their applications through the FAW Media Portal. The deadline for all submissions is Friday, May 22, 2026, at 12:00 PM, with organizers stating that late applications will not be accepted. Applicants must indicate their role, choosing between categories such as journalist—covering television, print, or online platforms—or photographer.
The match will be played at Cardiff City Stadium in Wales, providing a major stage for what is set to be a historic encounter.
This fixture will mark the first-ever meeting between the senior men’s national teams of Wales and Ghana. It will also be the first time an African national team has played an international friendly on Welsh soil, adding further significance to the occasion.
For Ghana, the game serves as an important preparation match ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America. The Black Stars are set to compete in a challenging group stage against England, Croatia, and Panama.
Meanwhile, Wales, which did not qualify for the upcoming World Cup, will use the friendly as an opportunity to assess squad depth, test new players, and maintain competitive form ahead of future international competitions.
The match is expected to draw significant attention from fans and media alike, given its historic nature and its importance for Ghana’s World Cup preparations.
