Stonebwoy at Summerjam

Stonebwoy, one of the acclaimed superstars in reggae, dancehall, and afrobeats, headlined the second day of Germany’s largest reggae and dancehall festival, Summerjam. His spectacular performance elevated the festival’s mood and rekindled memories of last year’s event.

Taking the stage at 4:30 p.m., the African star kicked off his set with “OverLord,” a 2023 single that pays homage to his reggae and dancehall roots and resonated well with the German audience. This track marked his first official single of 2023 following the release of his album “5Th Dimension.” Stonebwoy then delighted fans with a series of classic hits, including “Run Go” (2015), “People Dey” (2016), “Activate” featuring Davido, and his recent single “Your Body,” hailed as the perfect summer anthem.

Early in his set, Stonebwoy paid tribute to legendary reggae icon Bob Marley by performing “Praise Jah In The Moonlight” and his verse on the “Buffalo Soldier” remix. He swiftly moved through fan favorites like “Hero,” “Apotheke” featuring DJ Maphorisa, “Non-Stop,” and “Life & Money.”

This appearance marked Stonebwoy’s third at Summerjam since his historic debut in 2018 and a memorable headline set in 2022. Renowned for his flawless musicianship in reggae, dancehall, and afrobeats, as well as his unrivaled stage presence, Stonebwoy created the distinctive atmosphere that has made the festival famous and beloved worldwide. His performance was a fitting celebration of Summerjam’s 37th anniversary.

Stonebwoy’s performance followed his recent activities in Europe, including his appearance at Paris Fashion Week and an exclusive recording session with the legendary Wyclef Jean in London. He recently released his new single “Your Body,” a vibrant visual narrative celebrating African beauty, self-love, and body positivity.
