Suame Interchange critical to NPP’s 2024 votes in the Ashanti Region – Wontumi

Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), emphasized that the party’s success in the 2024 general elections hinges on several factors. He highlighted that securing a victory for the NPP would entail capturing more votes from the Ashanti Region, which would be facilitated by completing specific projects in the area.

One crucial project that Chairman Wontumi emphasized is the Suame Interchange. The NPP executives firmly believe that starting this project would significantly contribute to garnering support for the party’s presidential candidate in the 2024 elections.

“We kindly request the President ensure construction begins on the Suame interchange. We understand it may not be possible to fulfill all promises, but at the very least, starting work on this project will encourage people to vote for him in 2024.” The Suame Interchange project, which the President pledged during his visit to the Ashanti Region in 2021, will feature a four-tier interchange at the existing Suame Roundabout, with overpasses at the Abrepo, Krofrom, Anomangye, Magazine New Road, and Abusuakruwa junctions.

This interchange will be the first in the Ashanti Region and the second in the country, following the Pokuase Interchange in the Greater Accra Region.

Despite President Akufo-Addo’s ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony in October 2022, construction work on the Suame Interchange project has yet to begin.

Chairman Wontumi earnestly expressed their plea to the President, urging him to ensure the prompt commencement of work on the Suame interchange.
