Sudan’s assistant coach, Ignatius Osei Fosu, has raised concerns about the quality of the training pitch provided for his team ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Ghana.

The Sudanese squad has been preparing at the St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School pitch for their upcoming match against the Black Stars on Thursday, October 10.

Coach Osei Fosu pointed out that the poor condition of the pitch may affect their tactical preparations and overall performance.

“Preparations have been decent, but our main issue has been with the training pitch,” he stated. “It hasn’t been ideal, but we’ll manage. We haven’t trained at the Accra Stadium yet, but the pitch at St. Aquinas isn’t up to standard.”

He added, “If the pitch at the Accra Stadium is similar to what we’ve experienced at St. Aquinas, we can expect some poor-quality football.”

The match against Ghana will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10. Sudan currently sits second in Group F of the qualifiers, three points behind leaders Angola and two points ahead of both Ghana and Niger.
