The Supreme Court is set to announce its ruling on the vacant seats case on Tuesday, November 12.
This pivotal decision follows the conclusion of arguments presented by both the plaintiff and the Attorney-General, who also serves as the Minister for Justice.
In an unexpected turn, lawyers for the Speaker of Parliament did not submit their statement of case and were absent from court proceedings.
Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame expressed strong disapproval of the Speaker’s legal team’s actions, especially criticizing Thaddeus Sory, the Speaker’s lawyer, for his absence.
Dame argued that Mr. Sory’s failure to appear in court or file the necessary documents showed a disregard for the judicial process.
He urged the court to take a firm stance on this conduct, asserting that it undermines the authority of the court and due process in such an important case.
