Vodafone’s Ashanti Commitment

Vodafone-Ghanas-Ashanti-Month-scaled

Vodafone Ghana reaffirmed its dedication to driving positive change in the Ashanti region through its Ashanti Month initiative. This month-long campaign aimed to support businesses, reward customer loyalty, and promote sustainable development in the area.

Vodafone Ghana sponsored the 66th Asantehene Golf Open Championship as part of the initiative, a blend of sports, customer engagement, and community development. The tournament, held at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi from June 14th to June 17th, 2022, attracted amateur and professional golf enthusiasts.

During this period, Vodafone Ghana engaged in various activities to foster customer engagement. Their senior management team made courtesy calls to select customers and organized an exclusive dinner for long-standing patrons. The telecom company hosted a special dinner with Otumfuor to express gratitude to their loyal customers.

The pinnacle of the tournament was the grand finale, where the Asantehene hosted an exquisite Royal Dinner. The event featured a splendid assortment of food, melodic music, graceful dancing, and well-deserved rewards for the golf tournament winners.

Both Otumfuor Osei Tutu II and Patricia Obo-Nai, the CEO of Vodafone Ghana, praised the telecom company for its unwavering support and loyalty in their speeches.

Vodafone Ghana Foundation undertook several health and education activities as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives during Ashanti Month. These included Healthfest, a free medical screening program, donations to the Manhyia District Hospital’s Antenatal Care unit, and the Homecoming initiative, which covered medical expenses for financially challenged patients at the same hospital.

Vodafone collaborated with the Ghana Library Authority to establish nine ICT Hubs, providing communities with digital resources. The Foundation team also implemented the Rural Ultrasound Scan initiative, offering pregnant women in Pipie access to modern technology such as ultrasonography to reduce maternal and child mortality.

Vodafone Ghana’s Ashanti Month was more than a mere celebration; it was a commitment to sustainable development in the Ashanti region. Through sports, customer engagement, and community development, Vodafone Ghana demonstrated its dedication to supporting sustainable development and fostering connections for a brighter future. As Patricia Obo-Nai stated, “Ghana showed remain steadfast in our mission to transform lives and businesses in line with our purpose of progressing together.”
