Luis Suarez believes he and his teammates will put their lives and souls on the line to overcome Ghana and clinch a place in the World Cup knockout round in 2022.

Uruguay has only one point in Group H after losing to Portugal on Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Ghana won a crucial match, increasing their chances of making it to the round of 16.

The Black Stars defeated the Asian giants 3-2, increasing their chances of reaching the knockout round.

The four-time African champions must avoid defeat against Uruguay in order to advance to the Round of 16.

Suarez said before the match that he and his teammates would put their bodies and souls on the line to qualify.

“We are going to put our lives and soul into this last match, Ghana is a good team but we know them, we have beaten them before and we know how to beat them again”

“We have watched their video clips and they have a porous defense, we will utilize that to beat them,” he said.

Ghana was denied a World Cup semifinal berth due to a Luis Suarez handball incident in the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

In the final minute of extra time at Johannesburg’s Soccer City Stadium, the former Liverpool and Barcelona forward save a goal-bound header from Ghana’s Dominic Adiyiah.

Ghana was also awarded a penalty, but ’s 12-yard attempt hit the crossbar, sending Suarez insane on the touchline and forcing the game into a shootout.

Uruguay won the penalty shootout and advanced to the semifinals, with Luis Suarez praised for his demonic performance.
