The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), which was conducted for both school and private candidates.

WAEC stated that the results for school candidates would be dispatched to the respective schools through the district, municipal, and/or metropolitan directors of education. Conversely, private candidates can access their results on the Council’s official website, www.waecgh.org.

In a statement dated November 9, 2023, signed by WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, it was noted, “School candidates who wish to do so may also check their results online on the Council’s website.”

However, WAEC has alerted the public that examination scripts of 22,270 candidates in certain subjects are under scrutiny due to extensive reports of cheating. The outcomes of these investigations may result in the public release or rejection of the affected results.

WAEC has also cautioned all parties involved to be vigilant when dealing with individuals offering to manipulate results for monetary gain. The Council emphasized, “Candidates are advised to keep in mind that WAEC results are secure and can be authenticated.”
